How to filter a time series by a column of dates?

Hello! I'm trying to filter a time series that encompasses every day of 3 years. I have a second, smaller time series (covers the same period of time but has fewer values) that I'd like to compare with the original time series. To do this I need to extract from the first time series the values for the dates of the 2nd time series. I've tried using the advanced filter function in excel but I can't seem to get it to work.

My dates are in column A, and my data for each date is in column B. The dates that I need to extract from the A-B time series are in column C. Is there a simple way to do this? Thank you in advance.

    Hi indoze,

Any chance of uploading a sample, or template of what you're looking for?

I just worked the attached up as an example. I have columns A and B, and column C. I don't have column D. I want to pull the values from column B that correspond with the dates in column C. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

The attached is a really basic example and didn't take long to do by hand... But I have years of data that I need to pull values for ~40 specific dates from and if I didn't have to do it manually it would save a lot of time. Thanks!

    How's this....

my personal favourite is the INDEX & MATCH function, you can do a hell of a lot more with it than the vlookup!
