    Coditional Format for multiple options

    Hi Guys,

I posted a similar question on here the other day, which was kindly solved by JB.

But I have a further query which I cannot seem to solve.

The attached sheet shows on the right a list of resource on a particular day that is a available. On the left it has the matching days and the engineers names.

When I select an engineer in column A it strikes through the name in the available resource list for that day. But I can't seem to add additional engineers to the right. In this case column B (Engineer 2). When I put in the initials into Column B it strikes through the following days resource and not the matching day. I can put them in column A and it works fine but that will not be how I want the sheet setup, as engineer 1 and 2 will have different columns when it finally gets built

This is the formula I have in the Cond Format (=ISNUMBER(MATCH(G2,A:A,0)) I have tried to widen the range but then it all goes wrong

    Many Thanks in advance.

    Try in CF..

    =COUNTIF($A$2:$B$2,G2)
    Life's a spreadsheet, Excel!

    Hi Ace,

    Thank you for the reply,

This hasnt solved the issue unfortunately, this just colours the entire row.

I will upload another sheet that might show it a bit clearer

    Many Thanks

    Hi Ace,

I have managed to sort it by using 2 rules (=ISNUMBER(MATCH...etc) for each engineer column. Not ideal but it does the job.

    Thanks
