    Hours calculation in MS Excel

I have a question. How way to calculate total hours work according to standard international hour.

Example : (Check in) 8.22 o'clock in the morning - (Check out) 15.00 o'clock in the afternoon.

In MS Excel calculation will be 5.78 hour because calculation ms excel read even 100 minute counted as 1 hour.

By right if calculation 60 minute equivalent to 1 hour will become hour work above is 5.38 hour.

What formula calculation that must be used in order to be 5.38 hour.

If you format your time to be standard international hour (ex. 13:00:00) and A1=08:22:00 and B1=15:00:00, you should use the formula =B1-A1. It will calculate 6.38 hours

A time is a fraction of a 24 hour period. So, subtract the two times and multiply the result by 24. Format as General.
