    Password Protect Individual Worksheets

    Hi
Is it possible to password protect individual work sheets with in one work book?

I have a workbook with 12 sheets. 10 holding individual workers salary info, 1 summary sheet and 1 index page.
At present, the index page has 11 buttons behind which a simple macro will go to the individuals page or the summary sheet, but this also means that anyone else can see a co workers details.

Would it be possible to add in password protection when a worker clicks his / her button so that only they can access their own page?

    Many Thanks

    The answer is YES

However, passwords are only good for the casual/novice user

I would not suggest this approach as passwords are too easily defeated

    oh Brilliant
That will work as none of the users would be able to hack into the other sheets anyway!
Sadly I have to leave the office now, but will be on to follow this up tomorrow - unless it is an easy solution for you to post?

Im isung Excel 2007 if thats important?

    Many Thanks

    Re: Password Protect Individual Worksheets

Hi Thanks for that, Im back in the office so hopefully can get this sorted.

    Just to clarify:
I have 10 users who for years have been sharing a workbook which has a worksheet for each individual.
Our auditors have asked that only the individual worker can see his own sheet and not the other 9.
I know this is not THE most robust way of doing it and that passwords can be hacked, but believe me, this will not be a problem.

    So the question is:
Can a user click a macro button which will then prompt for a password before displaying that users personal page (and not allow him to see anyone elses page -tabs will be hidden)?

    I am using Excel 2007.

    Many Thanks
    Shy
