Rearranging Production Data According to Dates

    Hello all,

I currently have got a production schedule that is sorted by the products a machine is manufacturing, and would like to rearrange it according to the amount of products produced for each day instead. How can we sort such a data out, and is a macro required? I've tried calculating the production rates per hour based on the duration, but the way Excel sorts out cells related to time and duration is so user-unfriendly. Can someone help me out with this? I've attached the file to this for your perusal.

Thanks so much in advance! I really appreciate it!

You can get the tons per hour for each product by putting this in, say, E2:

    =D2/(A3-A2+C3-C2)/24

and copying down to E6. You will need to un-merge the cells A7 to D7 and put 21/09/2012 in A7 and 17:00:00 in C7.

    Hope this helps.
