Smile AutoRecover File Location affecting my Datalinks

I have a large excel file that is causing problems. It is quite big 100mb, has thousands of lookups both to other sheets and 8 links to other excel workbooks
Every time it crashes and I wish to use the autorecover feature, 4 of my file links have changed to the autorecover file location.

So if my link is to a file called data.xlsx, its location changes from c:\users\me\desktop\folder\data.xlsx
to c:\users\me\appdata\roaming\ms\excel\data.xlsx which is the default autorecover loaction.

This means that next time I have the data file open, it does not automatically update and I have to data\edit links\change source to get to my original formula.

I've not noticed this before and so far as I can tell this is odd behaviour.

I am also surprised that 4 of the links stay ok while 4 change. The only thing that is different is that the 4 that stay the same are in a different parent folder, while the ones that change are in the same parent folder to the file I am working on.

Any ideas as to why this might be happening/ what I can do about it?

    Thanks Jesper
