I am experiencing a situation where I can't left click on a a group of two or more cells to copy, set the cell type (general, accounting, % etc.)
I can drag across a group of words in word '07 to highlight, underline, bold, copy of move - so the mouse seems to be working properly.

I must have distured a setting of some sort in the excel file that has shut down the ability to drag across multiple cells as discussed above.
