    Hi,
when i want to keep track of changes it appears in comments but i want it in a designated cell. I saw the same in this forum in thread -"If data is changed in cells If data is changed in cells A:O, I want in column P date on which last change was done" but i could not understand it how change should be in a designated cell
    Thanks in advance

Here is a macro-enabled, un-shared, un-protected version of your workbook. It should track changes in columns A thru O

If you want to save the information in a cell, I believe a macro is necessary. This macro is a worksheet event macro:

Because it is worksheet code, it is very easy to install and automatic to use:

    1. right-click the tab name near the bottom of the Excel window
    2. select View Code - this brings up a VBE window

If you have any concerns, first try it on a trial worksheet.

If you save the workbook, the macro will be saved with it.

    To remove the macro:

    1. bring up the VBE windows as above
    2. clear the code out
    3. close the VBE window
