    Copying Formulas in Excel

I am an experienced Excel user using Excel 2010. For some reason, tonight, when I copied a formula from one cell to another, only the result of the formula was calculated, not the formula itself. I tried using a different file. I tried exiting Excel and re-entering. I tried rebooting. None of these solves the problem. When I hit Ctrl+C, there is no 'squiggly of dotted lines' around the cell I'm copying from. There must be a setting somewhere deep in Excel that is causing this. I have no clue what it might be.

Can anyone here help me, please? I'm at my wits' end. Thanks in advance.

    Re: Copying Formulas in Excel

A few months back, a lot of people were having problems with a Skype add-in called "Click to call", or something like that. The problem should have been fixed a while ago, but it sounds like the same issue again.

Thank you, Søren. You're exactly right. That was the problem. I only wish I'd heard from you 36 hours ago. . .before I paid $38 on another forum to get the problem solved. So sorry, but I do appreciate you weighing in on this. Once I deleted the 'Click-to-Call' file that was installed March 7, 2012, Excel worked perfectly. I find it breathtaking that the Skype/Microsoft people can be SO arrogant that they haven't fixed it, even at this late date. Thank you again.

That sucks; you paying money for that, i mean... I thought that the bug had been fixed in some Skype update months back; perhaps your Skype wasn't updated to the latest version?
