    randbetween

Hi guys, Hope all well I was wondering.

I have two tables on the same sheet 4*4 A1:D4 and G1:J4

All cells in the two tables contain =randbetween(1,20)

What is it that makes both tables or in fact any cell on the worksheet with the same formula update/generate.

Why is it that the cells dont work alone?

    Does anyone know why?

    Thanks
    Blake 7

This link hit the nail on the head. This guy Charles really reminds me of DonkeyOTE, ahhhhh i miss his post's!

    In a nutshell.....

    Volatile Functions.
A Volatile Function in a formula in a cell makes that cell be always recalculated at each recalculation even if it does not appear to have any changed precedents.
    Avoid volatile functions wherever possible.
You can make a User-Defined Function volatile by including Application.Volatile in the function code.
