Excel is too heavy to open

Hi, I am using Excel 2007 and i have 5 workbook linked with each other. Out of the 5 Work books 2 Work book contains loads of formulas and thats why the workbook becomes too much heavy to open and whenever i will open the 5 workbooks it will take 5 min approx to open and the same time to save them, whenever i made the change in any of rest 3 workbook it will take another 2-3 minutes to switch between the workbooks. Is there any ways i can reduce the sizes or any thing so that my work become lighter? i will be highly thankful if it can happen.

    Hi

    Some reasons:

    Too many Conditional Formatting.

    Many Array Formulas.

Whole ranges in your formulas(A:A...c:c..)-Replace with certain references(A1:A1250...)

Re: Excel is too heavy to open

Hello, I have a large spreadsheet we use at work for inventory. It has 7500 rows of products and approximately 40 columns of data about them.It is 11mb, has several sheets
I was trying to clean it up, and on this site, used a formula to display differences between 2 columns that are essentially just a copy of each other, and i want to get rid of one.

The formula didn't work, or i didn't do it properly. however, now i can't find where i put it very quickly as the spreadsheet keeps freezing up and i am wondering whether the formula i did has slowed it right down. How do I scroll through to find the formula to get rid of it and take the spreadsheet back to normal performance!?
