    Conditional formatting

i need to set a conditional format that will if "bonus" is selected in any row in column A then column B,C,D & E will change to red.

    also if possible

in the same formula to add if bonus or lighting or electrical is selected in any row in column A then column B,C,D & E will change to red.

    Re: Conditional formatting

    1) What do you mean when you say "is selected"? To click on that particular cell?

    2) We can not use the same color__red_ for both conditions..

    Re: Conditional formatting

    Hi Lpratt,

Highlight the area you want to have the custom formating by click and dragging from top left to bottom right. In the comments below I'll assume that you're highlighting from B2 to E100. The result will be that if in A2 and the rows below the word "Bonus", "Lighting" or "Electrical" appear then the 4 cells to the immediate right in columns B, C, D & E will have a Red background.

Use the custom format formula: =or($A2="Bonus",$A2="Lighting",$A2="Electrical) and then select whatever formating you require.

    Hope this helps.
