Quick Access Toolbar macros stopped working

I have many macros tied to icons on my QAT.

It appears they suddenly stopped working.

They are tied to personal.xlsb.

that file is located at c:\users\name\appdata\roaming\microsoft\excel\xlstart

the macros within that file still working when manually running them, only the QAT does not seem to run them.
The path of the icons (when entering the custimize menu) appears to point to that same file, correctly.

anyone have any clue how to fix this? hopefully without haveing to re-add every single macro again.

Oct 2012. Have had same issue but am not using the personal workbook. Oddly, if I go into the Customize Menu and delet the button image assigned to the macro, and then reassign it, the
shortcut works. I have only on macro assigned to the back arrow button. I see no one has responded to this post - surely there is a solution?
