How to add 1 to a calculated cell if a range of cells are not empty?

This is difficult to describe. I am trying to calculate "Projected yearly gross". The gross is divided by the number of accumulated weeks. So, if we are only 10 weeks into the fiscal year then the gross amount is divided by 10. Currently, I am altering the cell by changing the number each week by 1. But I am sure there is a way to do this automatically. I would like the number of weeks to be determined by a range of cells. If the cell is empty then nothing is added, but if it has data then 1 is added to the number of weeks. In other words if 10 cells out of 52 have values in them then the calculation in my "Projected yearly gross" field should read something like =(CELL/10)*52.

I hope this explains my problem.

Perhaps one of these functions can help:
This one counts the numeric values in the range
    =COUNT(A1:Z1)

This one counts the non-blank cells in the range
    =COUNTA(A1:Z1)
