Issue with how to input different data from multiple cells using lists

Hey

wasn't too sure how to title this clearly so sorry! It's also a stupidly simple question but I am on the most part a complete novice when it comes to using spreadsheets. Can someone help me with how to achieve this?

I want to select the Company name using a drop down list from data validation (which I can do easily) but by selecting that company I want there email, phone and shipping/billing address to be then automatically inputted into adjacent cells. All this data is held in one place in another worksheet in the same spreadsheet so it's not working across different spreadsheets. I want the same to happen for selecting an item and then the price will automatically be inputted into the next cell along 'Price'.

I hope this makes sense and any help would be fantastic!

Thanks

you can do this using either a vlookup or index/match. without seeing what you are working with though, i cant give you the syntax/references, so if you still have a problem, please upload a sample workbook

To Attach a File:

1. Click on Go Advanced
2. In the frame Attach Files you will see the button Manage Attachments
3. Click the button.
4. A new window will open titled Manage Attachments - Excel Forum.
5. Click the Browse... button to locate your file for uploading.
6. This will open a new window File Upload.
7. Once you have located the file to upload click the Open button. This window will close.
8. You are now back in the Manage Attachments - Excel Forum window.
9. Click the Upload button and wait until the file has uploaded.
10. Close the window and then click Submit.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

souar,

Welcome to the forum!
It sounds like you're looking for the VLookup function:

And just in case, here's a tutorial on how to use VLookup:

Hope that helps,
