Merging cells to quickly add information to entire column

    Hello,

I have a long list of chromosome numbers in Column B. However, in order to input the chromosome number data into the online database I'm using, they each need to read "chrX:" with 'X' representing each individual number. Is there a way I can add the "chr" prefix in front of each chromosome number in my list without going through and pasting "chr" in front of each number? I thought there was a way to merge "chr" with the numbers by putting "chr" in column A and then somehow merging the cells. For reference, here is what my cells currently look like:

    Column A Column B
    chr 3
    chr 1
    chr 14
    chr 9
    chr 7
    chr 16

    Thank-you
