    Line Drawing gives Doulble Line

    Hello
I haven't come across this before, but one of my workbooks won't draw a single line.
Instead it draws two lines, parallel but slightly offset. The second line is also a different
colour ! Its the same with arrows and drawing a rectangle gives one that has a shadow
behind it in a different colour. With all the shapes, only one of them can be selected.
Any new sheets that I add to the workbook are the same.

My guess is that Ive unwittingly altered the default shape settings somehow. How has
this happened, and is there some way to fix it ?

    Thanks for any help.

I tried to duplicate this issue. I went to insert shapes, chose line, then double clicked on the line. This brought me to my drawing tools. There I went to Shape Outline, Weight and more lines. This brought up the line style box where in line color I chose black, line style I chose single and shadow I chose no shadow. Then closed.

Hope this helps you somewhat. Does it happen only with this workbook, or with all your workbooks and sheets within?

    Hello, and thanks scarames.
I think that its because I have excel 2003, but my drawing tools don't work as you describe. When I double click the line
the Format AutoShape dialog comes up and this doesn't have a shadow option. I can change the style and weight etc but
this doesnt get rid of the extra line/shadow.
The problem exists in one workbook only, plus any additional sheets that I add to it.

I understand whats happening now. Any shapes drawn in this workbook are specified as
"no line" color and shadow style added, by default. However, I haven't found a way to reset
the defaults to automatic color and no shadow (for new shapes).

Can anyone help with this please ?
