Question Input Box Prompt in Multiple Cells - Macro

Total over whelmed by Excel. I understand it to be a really useful and powerful program but right now I'm really struggling.

I have spent days reading these forums (and other places) and trying to help myself but I just don't even understand the terminology used in Excel to begin to help myself.

I have worked on a particular sheet to get it to do some 'stuff' but I can't get it really working.

I want to run a one button macro that will prompt data entry, and do auto formulas.

I have 3 data entry columns I want input box prompts for:
    Product Item
    Revenue
    Expenses

I can get the prompts to work but when I type in the data it isn't showing in the sheet, it shows in the box (when I type it) but then it's not on the sheet.
I think I have the formula parts done.

Also can these cells be locked and only have data via the prompts/input boxes.

I apologise if I'm not calling things by their right names, I'm just so lost.

Hello pix & Welcome to the Forum,

It's very possible using a Data Entry form may be a better way to go...

I Jeffrey and thank you for the fast reply.

I have had a look at this, and yes I agree - and I will be looking at this for my next project, an automated quoting and invoice system.

But I have the limitation of it must be set out in a 4 x 6 table, any use prompted input boxes.

Oooow ... I think the 2nd link might massage into something I can use.

I can see I would really like Excel if I could just get it started .... its just so so so frustrating when you don't have a cluse how to even ask/research for help .......

    Ok getting there but ......

The oddest thing is in the Revenue & Expenses cells on the sheet the amount come up as a long date ...................... Light Bulb Moment
Checking how I have the cell formatted - Oh I'm a goose - I had it as date .........

    Thank You Thank You ......
