Linking data - coping with a sourcefile name change

    Good afternoon,

I am linking to a workbook where the name contains a date. (EX. ABC 10-15-2012) The sheets are all the same format but the name keeps changing. Is there a way to maintain that link, other than re-slecting the new file each day? I already looked into just keeping the file name static and it isn't reasonable considering the workflow of others.

Thanks for your help. I have been searching and can't find a way anywhere.

    Cheers,
    Todd

You can use the INDIRECT function to build the file name using the current date (I am just guessing you need the current date--how do you know which date applies?). For example,
Please Login or Register to view this content.
However, this requires the other file to be open. There is a workaround for that in the form of an add-on called INDIRECT.EXT which is described here, among other places.
