Cell referenceing

Hi Can anyone tell me a quick way of doing the following:

I have a sheet in excel that shows data from several other sheets in the same workbook.

The problem is that I need several different rows on this summary sheet to take data from the same cells but in a different sheet to what tehy currently refer to. i.e. I need to change which sheet those rows refer to.

I did a find and replace - and yes I got myself into that situation where you try and press escape a lot of times and end up closing the document!

I'm now doing it manually e.g. chanaging 'Sheet A' to 'Sheet B' But it is taking ages.

Is there a quick .... but relatively easy way of doing this as I'm not a very advanced excel user?

use indirect
say the sheet name is in a1 then in say a2 put
=INDIRECT("'"&A1&"'!D2") this will reference cell D2 of whatever sheet name is in a1
