Conditional Formatting if Cell contains Comments

Hi there,

Im attempting to fill a cell with a colour if that cells contain comments.

In attempting to solve this I stumbled into the following post: http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...-comments.html
I'm attempting to use dominicb's solution, however I have several hundred cells I need to format this way, so I want to find a way of turning this:

=IsComm(A1)=TRUE

into something akin to

=IsComm("This Cell")=TRUE

Can anyone help me?

Unsure of your question. The A1 is not hard coded, per se. You can put any cell you want. In the conditional formatting, you should be able to highlight your entire range, use =IsComm(your_top_left_cell_with_$_signs_removed) as your test.

Oops nevermind, I was being silly.

I just needed to do one cell with $ symbols, then copy and paste it including formatting to each other cell i needed it for.
