Can I create formula that will count filled vs bank cells?

    Hi All,

I am looking to create a cell on a sheet that will count for me how many cells within a selected area contain data vs empty cells. I only need to know one or the other (yes or no) as it is always the same size sample and thus easy to calculate the remainder.

    Thanks for your help.

several ways, but what defines a blank cell.if its truly blank then counta(a1:a10) will do,if the blank is the result of "" then =SUMPRODUCT(--(A1:A10<>""))
