Please help me calculate the time duration

I have thousands of these to calculate and just can't seem to get it right! Please can someone help me!!!

Ok, here goes.

These are durations that different vehicles took to move from one point to another and all the durations (time) have to be added together

With your data in A1 thru A8, use:

=SUM(A1:A8)

which displays:

7:35:50

I don't understand - if I do exactly that it gives me the answer being 0?

That is O.K.

Getting zero is valuable information. It means your data is stored as Text rather than Time.
We need to convert the Text values.

Hi-light the cells containing the data and use Text To Columns to convert them into true times.
