index/match to compile division records for fantasy football

I have a doozey for you guys, I think.

I am working on compiling records for my fantasy football league, and I’m trying to track division records.

In F707:O717 I have the total overall records. Our league is divided into two divisions. I have color coded them just so you can see the separation. There isn’t any vba to tie the colors to the names.

In other areas of the worksheet there are index/match formulas that do a similar task, like in AG511:AG515.

So what I’m looking to do is to have each owner’s records against the other teams in their own division computed. All of our games take place in columns F through V.

I hope I have provided enough information for you. If not, please feel free to ask and I’ll explain everything that I can to the best of my ability.

    Thanks,
    Damian

Re: index/match to compile division records for fantasy football

As a follow up: For example, for player Keith in row 707 I am looking for the following results: for N707, "3" and for O707, "2", respectively. This is 3 wins and 2 losses in the division. Keith has played 5 games against teams in his own division (vs Mike, Dave (2 games), Al and Damian). He has more points 3 times (positive numbers for wins, negative points for losses) and negative points twice in those 5 games. Those results are in row F252:V252.

I hope this helps clarify what I am looking for.

    Thanks,
    Damian

    N707 "3" and for O707 "2"

or it should be 2 Win 3 Loss? Please clarify

    Yes, it is correct.....

    N707 should be 3 wins, O707 is 2 losses.

Keith has positive points (wins) against Dave on 9/9/2012, Damian on 10/11/2012 and Al on 10/21/2012. He has losses (negative points) against Mike on 9/16/2012 and Dave on 10/28/2012. Those are the 5 games against the 4 other opponents in his division.

hi Damian. i'm providing you a very sensitive volatile formula. so any slight change in patterns may render this formula ineffective. for N707:N711, try

    O707:O711, try

the difference is the red portion. more than 0 are for wins, less than 0 for losses.

for the other division, you just have to change this blue part:

    benishiryo,

Thank you for your help. The top formula is working so far, but the bottom one has errors in it. I've put what the correct outputs should be in the cells next to it.

Should this formula continue to work as I put numbers all the way up to column V?
