How to count the number of documents processed by user?

Hi,

I've got data held in three columns (doc code, doc number and user) and I want to see how many documents each user has processed. The doc code is always the same but the number of lines against each individual doc number varies. How can I count the number of individual documents processed by each user (Example data attached)?

hi Snook. Assuming the names are in E1 onwards, try this array formula:

you have to paste the formula inside the formula bar & press CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER. you can change the one in red to the names like "Bob" or in a different cell reference
