    VLOOKUP Help

    Hi All,

I am struggling in working out the best way to work this problem out so hoping for some guidance and help.

I have attached the spreadsheet that I need help with..

In each worksheet it shows numbers and a band number columnUK_Dial_Plan_01092012 Met-lookup.xlsx, I want to each worksheet to look at the charge band coloum and check the associated cost of that charge band which is in "Charge Costs" section

i think it requires a VLOOKUP and an IF statement but as I dont use excel all the time I could do with some pointers on this one

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

    Re: VLOOKUP Help

    Hi,

try to copy this into C1:

and copy down. This means that the function will look for the value stored in B2 in the first column of the table located on "Charge costs" worksheet. If there is a match, it will return the second column's value. You can change that to 3rd or 4th column if you want Evening or Weekend costs. "False" means that the function is looking for an exact match.

Also, I think you should remove merged cells from Charge Costs worksheet for this to work.

    Re: VLOOKUP Help

In theory you just need to change the column index:
