two Pivot Tables - When I group a field the same thing happen on the second Pivot table

    Hi,

This is annoying and I'm sure there is someone trying to achieve the same thing but I don't and unfortunately it is happening.

So two pivot tables (PT), same source data.
The first PT is using a date field grouped by Year / The second one used the same field but I want it to be grouped by quarter for further processing.
When I change one the second gets modified as well!

    Annoying?!!

    Thanks

that's because they are using the same pivotcache. create the second pivot table using the pivot table wizard (alt+dp) and choose no when prompted to base it off an existing pivot. it will make your workbook larger

if at first you don't succeed try doing it the way your wife told you to

I don't know what the shortcut is in French excel but you can add the pivot table wizard to the quick access toolbar and then click that
