Formula in f2 does not show cell reference

I'm working on an excel sheet which relies alot on formulas, but the formula in the cell when I click f2 does not give me a cell reference:

    For example:

In my cell A1 I have : Training Center
    If I choose cell A2 and put : =A1
and when I click back (f2) instead of seeing :=A1
    Instead I see : =Training_Center

How can I change it back to a cell reference?

    Hi

Can you post a sample when I tried it on my workseet I got the required cell reference

    To Attach a File:

    1. Click on Go Advanced
    2. In the frame Attach Files you will see the button Manage Attachments
    3. Click the button.
    4. A new window will open titled Manage Attachments - Excel Forum.
    5. Click the Browse... button to locate your file for uploading.
    6. This will open a new window File Upload.
    7. Once you have located the file to upload click the Open button. This window will close.
    8. You are now back in the Manage Attachments - Excel Forum window.
    9. Click the Upload button and wait until the file has uploaded.
    10. Close the window and then click Submit.

you have named ranges. if you type = and then select the cell the formula will contain its name but if you simply type =a1 for example, it should remain as =A1

Re: Formula in f2 does not show cell reference

How can I fix it so that when I remove the name range (I'm assuming from Name Manager in the data tab), my excel workbook will have a cell reference instead of the name range.

If i remove the name, and I save, whatever was as a formula will become #NAME. Is it possible to remove the name range so that it will become =A1 without having to re-enter all the formulas?

you have to use the find/replace dialog unless you have the FastExcel version of the Name Manager add-in (not the Name Manager that is built into excel 2007)
