    how to add hypen between 2 numbers in cell

    HI:

    I am trying to type in 4-1 in a cell but can't get it to work, what am i doing wrong.

    hi JKONT, welcome to the forum. Excel recognises that as a Date. try using a single quote before typing. so
    '4-1

    or format the cell as a Text first, then type
    4-1
