    Invalid Reference error

I have a worksheet that has many functions/charts in it. Excel pops up an error box every few minutes while I am in it that states:

"A formula in this worksheet contains one or more invalid references.

Verify that your formulas contain a valid path, workbook, range name and cell reference."

I have searched the formulas and i cannot seem to find the error. Is there a tool i can use to track down the error?

Don't know of any tools, but I would check to see that you aren't refering to any named ranges that don't exist, or have any chart references pointing to sheets that no longer exist

    Re: Invalid Reference error

Thanks for your response. Ive gone through all the chart series, and it will show the cells that are selected and it all looks correct and most of the other functions are very simple ones like sum and max etc. i have hunted this down for a while and just cannot find the mistake. No REF! errors pop up in any of the results. I am just baffled. My opinion is it is in one of the chart series but i just cannot find it. I have gone as far as deleting chart series and simply reworking them but no solution. BTW. there are no external worksheet references in this sheet. It is simply something on this sheet. Now it is true that result for this worksheet are used on other worksheets. Maybe i need to look there??

You might try using the built-in Formula Auditing Tool.
I don't have access to Excel 2007 at the moment and can't recall which tab is is on, but click through the Ribbon Menu and look for it or consult the Excel Help file.
