Finding multiple entries and ignoring others ??

I have a table of figures that are generated by then users input

I could end up with a table of text like this in a column 1 to 26 row A -B
    Row A Row B
    1) LE3203 10.00
    2) LE3203 20.00
    3) LE3203 30.00
    4) LE3203 35.00
    5) LE0001 10.00
    6) LE0001 20.00
    7) LE0001 30.00

    AND SO ON

what I want to do is not count how many times a text appears (le3203) but to put it in another list ONCE so I would end up with a list like this

text, number of times it appeares total of row b that has same text

    Row A Row B Row C

    1) LE3202 4 95.00
    2) LE0001 3 60.00

I know how to use the sumif, but how do i get the First line to appear ONCE even if there are several listings for it.

Hope I have explained this ok

    Thanks ion advance

a pivot table would do that for you
right click and follow the wizard

Not sure if this will work, the data is input on another sheet, just worked out on this one, then the data is sent to another sheet, I do not know a lot about pivoit tables, not sure how you did that, have tried but failed

can you explain a bit more detail please

    Thanks

just been playing with yuour pivot table, if i change the list on the left as it will change quite a lot, your pivot table stays the same, does not reflect the changes ??

select the range of data then use pivot table
you can select where you want to put it same sheet, new sheet or another sheet(just click the other sheet you want and select a cell to start it in)
