Date to show only date w/o month or year

Hi,
I have a spread sheet for 12 months. I am wondering if there is a way to format to show in the cell only day of the month.
Appreciate any help.

Sure, enter a date in a cell, then select Custom formatting for that cell and enter "d" in the custom format box (without the quotes).

Select Ctrl + 1 >> Number >> Custom >> Type: d

If the date in the cell is 1/9/2012 >> this format will show >> 9
