Excel to Mail Merge Help

Hello,

I am using an Excel list fed to a Mail Merge to send out a mass letter. For some reason, for the Reference Number, the last digit of 12 digit account numbers is rounded to the nearest ten. This only happens sometimes.

I discovered that when I have a reference number that ends with text, for instance "12345AB" the following 12 digit reference numbers start out in scientific notation and are rounded. For instance, "510000123456" becomes "5.10000123460e11". This conversion to scientific notation only happens to reference numbers that are preceded by a reference number that contains text. Any ideas on how to rememdy this?
