Excel saved as zip but format is still excel

Hi,

I have seen excel zipped but it is visible as excel only. when i double click it it open a folder where same excel document is placed i have to double click it again to open it.

Please suggest how can i save the excel as zip having its same format.

someone zipped the folder with the .xlsx in it
or the one you have seen is self extracting
