    Date formatting problem with windows

    Hi,
I'm trying to convert string to date by using DATEVALUE
The problem is in my windows language&regional settings that is showing date in "m/d/yyyy" format and the data in excel file is "d/m/yyy".
i can't change the windows settings because i'm sending the file to users with different settings.

    for example
15/09/2009 will fail because no such month=15
    11/09/2009 will success

what can i do? how i make excel to ignore windows settings?

    q.xlsx

    Thanks.

    Use Date rather than Datevalue:

    =DATE(MID(A1,7,4),MID(A1,4,2),LEFT(A1,2))
