Column helpers

In a few of the posts that I've been reading, I've seen reference to something called "column helpers". What is this and how can I apply it? Thanks!!

Column helpers is if you don't add an whole formula in one cell, but you use a seperated cell (or column) for an certain part of the formule.

The helpcel can be used in another formula.

I use it to keep easy formula's, which are easy to read (and understand) so there is less change of faillure in the formula.

Or if there is a failure in the formula it's easier to repair.
