is there a way to:

Click on the row identifier (the 3 on the left hand edge of the screen) to highlight the complete row, then Edit | Delete Row.
Hope this helps.

is there away to automatically delete the entire row when I click on remove duplicates for column e?
I don't remember there being a Remove Duplicates feature in XL 2003 (which your profile indicates you are using).

I just installed MS office 2010 . . . I will update my profile. Can I do it using the 2010 version?
I used this macro on your data.
See the attached file. Please Login or Register to view this content.
I made it in the excel 2007 enviorment, so see if it also works on the excel 2003 version.
Notice my main language is not English.
I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

how do I run the macro?
Excel 2007
Choose on the lint developer => macro
Then you get an pop up where you find:
Delete_duplicated_values (this is the name of the macro).
Choose run
Duplicated values in column A will be deleted.
Now you have excel 2007 so you can use remove duplicates:
Excel 2007
Data => remove duplicated
if I copy and paste data to the file you sent me, how would I get to the lint developer
1) With ALT + F8 you also get to the macro's.
2) but already said, you can use excel functionality => remove duplicates
if I use remove duplicate and click on row e won't it only remove the duplicates in row E. But keep the cells in the other columns, thus the rows would be UN-alligned.
If I click all of the rows and there is a duplication in a column other than row e would it delete that duplicate and un-allign the rows on the sheet?
You have to select the whole worksheet and then choose for remove duplicates.
Then you can select on column (e.g. A) to remove duplicates.
if I remove the duplicates in one column (for example column A) does it delete the whole row or shift the cells in column A thus making the remainder of the columns not alligned with column a?
For example if they were 30 rows and 5 columns
If a5 & a10 are duplicates and are removed is the data in row 6 still alligned from all of the columns? or since A would be shifted up have all the rows changed and are out of alignment?
