Selection moves after pressing enter (option to do that is off)

If i open Excel to a blank sheet all works fine. In one particular sheet, the active cell changes after pressing enter even though this option is off! It moves in the direction indicated where you modify the option. This sheet is protected and there are locked and unlocked cells.

So, if the direction to move is set to "Right" and the option is "on", after pressing enter the active cell becomes the one to the right. I turn the option off and it still moves to the right. If i change it to move "Down" then it moves down... option on and off!

I do have code in the workbook but nowhere do i have "Application.MoveAfterReturn" set to True.

I tried turning it off with code; no help.
