Updating dates for new year

sample of daily summary.xlsx

I have attached a sample of a daily summary report I created for my sister who owns a cafe'. Now that it is a new year, I need to update the dates for each week but since there is a break of two columns between each week, I do not know how to do this without updating each week manually. Is there a way to have excel do this? Do I need to learn how to do a macro for this?
I am sure that my spreadsheet for her is really "rough" compared to what experienced users of excel could do, but I did this as a favor for her and for the selfish reason of trying to learn more about excel myself.

wages--sample.xlsx
This is the "wages" tab that I made (deleted employees names) and it too needs to have the dates updated. This is also broken down by each week. Again, I am sure that there is an easier and probably more user friendly way of doing this, but since I am just learning, I do not know how to do this any different. Haven't learned macros or VBA yet so it is in a crude format.

I would appreciate any assistance you guru's can provide. I really would like to make this easier for her to maintain and update as well as look a bit more professional, but I will do better as I learn more. Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Re: Updating dates for new year

Maybe for a first step, seems an easy solution...

Find and Replace
• Ctrl + H (Opens Find and Replace dialogue box)
• Find what: /2012
• Replace with: /2013
• Replace All
• OK
HTH

Re: Updating dates for new year

To make it easier to change the dates in future, try this...

in the daily summry file...
sheet1 F2 enter =E2+1
copy this to G2
in J2, =G2+3
K2 =J2+1
copy that for the rest of the week.
then copy the entire week to all the other weeks
Now, you only have to change 1 dats, and it changes for all

follow the same principle for the WAGES workbook
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Thanks Jeff for your input. I needed a little bit more advice which followed your input and actually it is a fairly easy solution. FDibbons addressed the updating of the calendar days which will now easily be updated next year. I do appreciate both inputs!
