    Numbering entries of each type in a column

    Hi,
    I have a column that looks like sheet 1 in the attached doc. I wish to number cells with similar entries and write those numbers in the adjacent column, as shown on the results sheet. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Put this in B2 and copy down.
