Return only non-blank list of ingredients from master list

    Hey guys~

I've attached a sample excel for what I'm looking to do. Basically, based off a search box(drop down), I'd like to automatically populate a list of non-blank ingredients in another list. Haven't been able to find anything like this on the forum, please help!

    Thank you!

The attached should work. Note that the K column uses cell K3 as it's reference, while columns J and L reference J7 and L7 respectively.

That definitely works if it's all on one page, but I'm actually referencing in from one workbook into another. I'm not quite sure if your method will work since the "master inventory list" is actually a database that isn't in the same workbook as the auto-populated list. Your method of putting a count on all non-blank values and then tracking it against those is a start, but since the database isn't "active" it won't allow for the way you want to do it.

Anyone else have any ideas how to reference it in, without having to modify the original master inventory list?

Yeah, I can't get that to work if the ingredients sheet is in a different workbook than the master sheet. Without modifying the master sheet, is there a way to do this? Macro maybe?
