    xml Editor - Internet Explorer

This is not an Excel question directly, but related. I do a lot of work using xml files looking at them in their raw state and in Excel. When I used to open up an xml file, it would open in Microsoft's Internet Explorer (the default xml Editor). I had a major computer crash and now my computer does not open xml files in Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Does anyone know how to get that feature back.

    I have Windows7 Ultimate & Office 2010.

    Thanks

From memory of Windows 7, what you do is right click on the XML file, Open With, Choose Another Program (or similar), select Internet Explorer, then there should be a checkbox that says "set this as default" or "always use this program" or similar.

Have you tried running SFC (System File Checker)? Open up a command prompt and enter:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    Other options.....
Check to see if your XML DOM Document add-on has been disabled. You can check this by:
    · Click Tools (the gear icon on the right side of the toolbar)
    · Click Manage add-ons
    · Under Show:, click All add-ons
    · Click XML DOM Document
    · Click Enable
    · Click Close
    · Close Internet Explorer (all windows)
    · Open Internet Explorer

    Or....
Click the "Compatibility View" button to the right of the address bar or press the "ALT" key and then click on "Tools" and then "Compatibility View". If you are working with a local xml file then I had to press the "ALT" key and then click on "Tools" and then "Compatibility View Settings" and then "Display all websites in Compatibility View"
