Locking specific cells eventually changing to locking all cells

    Hello all.
I am having an issue with the eventual locking of all cells in my excel sheet.
What I am trying to do is only lock two columns. However, when I copy & paste a report from an excel spreadsheet into my master spreadsheet, the properties change from only locking in two columns to the entire spreadsheet is locked up and we are unable to delete data using the "Delete" button.

Is there something I am missing? How do I prevent this from occurring?

    Thanks.

Your description isn't sufficient to give an exact answer but I hope that this will help you.

Locked cells are not accessible when the worksheet is protected. Protection is enabled on the Review Tab, Protect Sheet. Unlocked cells are accessible even after protection. Cells are locked by default. To unlock cells, select the cells that you want to unlock and right click, select format cells, click the Protection tab and select Unlocked.

If you don't really have need of a protected sheet, remove the protection from the sheet. It is easiest to work with unprotected sheets but there are times when you don't want certain cells to be accessible to everyone.

The behaviour of your sheet hints at a macro running to protect the sheet. If it is a macro, disable it or delete it if it isn't necessary to have the sheet protected.
