    Employees Shift Split Project

    Hi all,

We are working on a project where we have to split the shifts to the operatives equally and fairly.

I have set-up a sample spreadsheet where I figured out the first pattern for the plumbers.

As you can see each trade has a x number of operatives and the need to share all the shifts accordingly.

    Explained Sample:
    Plumbers

We have 8 Plumbers and every day. we need two of them to work on a shift.
There is not a specific pair that can be set to work, however due to the even number, I have managed to pair them up.

In this case there is only one shift per day, and it is for 17:00 - 22:00.
To ensure the shifts are split equally, I need to ensure that Each of them gets to do the Saturdays & Sundays evenly. I don't want to see the same operative doing let say 2 Sunday and the other operative doesn't do any within the month!!!

Please see attached a sample of the workbook where I have managed to get a pattern for the Plumbers for April 2013 and would like to find a pattern thought the year for all the trades.
The row filled in with orange colour specify the number of the operatives required per shift.
Where there are two shifts per day, I would like to ensure that the other thing to consider is: Early Shift, Late Shift & Weekends so they are split evenly..even if it is done on the next month.

Preferably it would be good if this could be formula based calculation or a standard pattern across the year.

    Many Thanks in advanceAttachment 222131
