    Logical Function with Conditional Formatting

    Version: Excel 2011 Mac

I have two rows of cell data. Some cells in both rows are currently empty. I'm trying to use conditional formatting, "cell value equal to" to turn any cells in row one that equal any cell in row 2. I can easily get it to work referencing 1 cell, but I'm trying to use multiple cells to reference multiple cells, and I can't get the "OR" function to make it work.

Re: Logical Function with Conditional Formatting

Select cell B1, Choose Conditional Formatting>New Rule.

From the pop up box choose 'Use a formula to determine whic cells to format'. Enter this formula:

    =B2=HLOOKUP(B2,4:4,1,0)

Click 'Format' to apply the format required (i.e. red font)

Then click OK to save this conditional format.
Now click 'format painter' (while B2 is still selected). then select row 2 and this rule will be applied to the whole row.
    Say thanks, click *
