Show Column 1 Titles when Filtering Table

Hi Everyone,

Attached i have a Document that shows a table i am hoping to filter through...there must be a really simple answer to this so hopefully it wont take long to figure out...

The table shows the list of Jobs in column 1, the second column lists the Operations given for each Job (note that the operations are listed in a separate row than the Job # given in Column 1), and the hours are listed in Column three for each operation...

Is there a way that i when i can filter by Operation (e.g. Milling..) and still view the Job # in Column 1?

short answer...the way you have your data - no

But if you add a helper column in D and use this, copied down, you can filter on the helper instead...

=IF(A2="",D1,A2)

The formula works very well, I would also be curious to see if there are other suggestions that don't require adding a column. If its not possible i will definitely be using your formula
