Exporting a single (or a few) records as XML vs the entire table

    Hello,
I've searched night and day looking for a way to export only a single record from an XML table (within Excel) ... instead of the entire table....to no avail. Is this even possible!

Basically, my Excel doc is already setup with a schema and mapped fields, but each time I try to highlight one or two rows/records in my table to export, it ends up exporting all 100 rows. Just looking for a way to export the rows I indicate and have only those specific rows combined into a single XML file on export.

    Someone please help!!!

    Hi Careless,
I never thought about using a filter first and seeing if that would work, but I just tried and unfortunately no luck...it still exported all the rows/records even though the filter was set to only show 2 of the 5 rows.

I've attached a sample of the doc with fake data. The Excel doc has a schema and mapped data.

To export, I just right-click in the table area and select XML>Export data...or use the Export button in the ribbon of the Developer's tab.

I'm afraid your post does not comply with Rule 8 of our Forum RULES. Do not crosspost your question on multiple forums without including links here to the other threads on other forums.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

Expect cross-posted questions without a link to be closed and a message will be posted by the moderator explaining why. We are here to help so help us to help you!

Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (not just this site).
