Pasting screen captured image on excel 2010

I often use print screen image when creating a document in our office.
The problem is that a certain document has a lot of images
attached to it which causes the file size to be very large (50mb)
such size is not ideal since that document will be transferred through the internet.

I tried to check whats the cause of the problem. It seems like the
images copied through print screen is pasted as a bmp file.

I tried to copy the same image and pasted it as a png file
from 4mb the file size drops to 45kb. So I think all I needed to
do was paste the images as png to minimize the file size
but the problem was I can't directly paste the screen captured
image as a png format. When I press prtscrn and click
paste special on excel the only available
option was bmp format. But if I copy any image from any file (say word or excel)
and paste in on excel I can select the png as the format on paste special.

How can I directly paste to png format my screen captured image?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Instead of converting the Images as png just use winzip or winrar (for compression) at the time of sending the file, which will reduce the file size.

winzip-ing the file will only reduce the file size at 50% at most
but imagine from 40mb to 45kb..thats a lot of space saved.
and if you edit the file...and 100mb file will take the
    loading longer...
