    Terribly slow excelsheet!

    Hi,

    For working out a way of reporting, we've made some simple things in Excel. We work with a way to show up pictures with 'naming' and refere it to some simple pic's. Now if you, for exmple, dot this:
    - take sheet 'BMO'
    - scroll to the financial section(from row 30);
    - change cell G37 to '700'
    -> now it really takes minutes before you can do something. It has to do with the 'green triangles in the upperleftside of the cell.

    Can somebody say what is going wrong? And how to speed it up?

    Thanks!!

    NB We use this in Excel '07

    I don't think it is to do with those green triangles, all they are doing is telling you that you have numbers as text.

    The problem is more likely with the pictures.

    When I delete them from the BMO sheet things speed up and if I delete all the pictures in the workbook things speed up even further.

    Have you tried using shapes instead of pictures?

    Thanks!
    I also think it has to do with the pictues, but these are really small (three simple pic's). I need pics or shapes, in the way like a cross; thump up; and ok-sign. Which kind of shapes have you in mind? Is that a standard set? And how to link the shapes?

    I think it's the number of pictures you are using, there's 32 on the BMO sheet alone.

    There are no specific shapes for cross, thumb up and ok-sign (tick mark?) but you could probably work with the existing shapes to create them.

    For example I took the L shape and rotated, resized etc it to get a tick mark.

    I went through your workbook and removed all formatting, even from the hidden pages. That speeded up the workbook quite a bit. The file size was reduced by 27K. In addition, the number of graphics seems to be a bit much.
