Hidden Cells

Hi all

I need to know if there may be a way to hide cells with a simple click? We uses excel to do our scheduling and we have some extra notes in hidden cells, (we hide them to keep the schedule looking is simple and clean as possible for the rest of the non techies). Every 4th row we have 2 rows that we need to hide, and this goes on to row 1000. At the moment we have to ctrl highlight every 2 rows and then click format and hide rows. Is there a simpler way to highlight?

Thanks

Re: Hidden Cells

Have you tried grouping each pair of rows?
• Select the pair of rows
• Data.Group

That will create [-] buttons to the left of the worksheet and at the top left.
Clicking the top button will collapse the rows and change the button to [+] (for expansion)
Clicking individual row buttons will toggle expand/collapse

Is that something you can work with?

Re: Hidden Cells

Here is Ron's idea with two macros that Hide and Unhide using two clearly labelled buttons. The pairs of rows are coloured by Conditional Formatting. If you don't want the colours, go into Conditional Formatting and delete the rules.

Re: Hidden Cells

There must be some minimum level of skill with the tools one uses in one's profession.
For them to be unwilling to learn something as easy as clicking a [+/-] button to unhide/hide rows to make their jobs easier is to practically scream "I am done learning anything new!"

Another option might be to, instead of hiding those rows/ to make teh font color teh same as the background, in effect, making them look empty
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

@ Ron Coderre

You really hit the nail on the head there! If one can't click a + or - are they alive?
